General principles Scribus is a Computer Aided Presentation software. Compared to a word processor, this type of software allows great layout flexibility. It may also be interesting to do a sketch with pencil and paper to get an overview of what is to be obtained before embarking with Scribus.

Indeed, one can not under Scribus write directly on the page, we must first create areas in which to work. For this, Scribus uses different objects (text frames or images, various shapes, drawing tools, …) that can be created from the toolbar: A menu tells you object each corresponding icon when you mouse over it, without clicking. Scribus also saves a lot of time when making documents such as class newspaper, the structure is made to be reproduced.

To work on a subject to work on an object whatsoever, you must first select it with a left click. The edge of the selected object becomes red, with handles to resize it (to keep the proportions, hold down the key Schift by moving the handle) When selected, you can move it.

Double-clicking is required to work on the content of the object (write a text in a text frame, import an image into a picture frame, a shape change, …). All this will be detailed in other tutorials. The “Properties” This window is for all objects.

It will allow most of manipulation (changing the position of the object, its form, the text fonts, net, frame colors, …). It can be very helpful to let still open. To do this: Right-click on a frame, a drop down menu appears. Select “Properties” by left-clicking, a window opens. <^ Scribus Scribus Tutorials - 2. How to import an image? > Print Add comment
